What’s Next for the Top Streamers?

Have you ever considered what the next step for a streamer already at the top is? Successful streamers are some of the most ambitious entrepreneurs in the digital world. They’re not eager to settle down. This week we’re checking out what new projects await one of the most successful streamer creators in the world.

Let’s talk

Turning a passion into a full-blown streaming career is a dream for many enthusiasts worldwide and is an incredible achievement. However, being on top of the Twitch charts is not the end game for many.

Take Dr. Disrespect, one of the most famous streamer creators out there. During his stream last week, he announced he’s working on a musical album. He’s already issued his own NFTs, created a bourbon brand and co-founded a gaming studio.

Another excellent example of a successful streamer, Ninja has already appeared in TV shows, such as Family Fraud and Masked Singer. As if he didn’t have enough on his plate, he will be hosting a MasterClass course for streamers in April. Pokimane, another extremely successful streamer, established a streamer-oriented talent agency last year.

Sure, one can say they can do all of these things thanks to the money made from streams, and partially this is true.

Streamers share the spirit of digital entrepreneurship. Most start streaming because they love it, yet those who treat their channel as a business make it to the top. They never settle and are always eager to try out new things. Books, tv shows, agencies and many other opportunities await those hungry for more.

Week Review

War in Ukraine and Gaming

Wargaming announces decision to leave Russia and Belarus

The originally Minsk-based studio behind hugely popular World of Tanks, World of Warships and World of Warplanes games decides to leave Russia and Belarus amidst the Russian aggression on Ukraine.

Streaming

Pokimane is the first female Twitch streamer to hit 9 million followers

Imane Anys, started streaming on Twitch in 2013 when she was just 17 years old. Since then, she has streamed for 5,269 hours, racked up over 219 million total views, and became one of the most influential streamers on the platform – a huge feat and a sign of the industry’s commitment to inclusivity.

Twitch’s April Fools joke made thousands of viewers watch pure silence

Over 50,000 viewers watched Mary Kirsh reading Junji Ito’s Lovesickness on stream in total silence, which was just one of many joke channels launched for April’s Fool’s, like Chores, Pizza Time, Character Creation, Odd Jobs or Errands. This shows the power a clever joke can have over audiences.

Gaming

E3 2022 canceled completely by the ESA

One of the cult-classic events of the gaming world will not be held in 2022 in any form. COVID-19 has drastically sped up the decline of the interest in the event from both gamers and developers. The attention is now shifting to Summer Game Fest hosted by Geoff Keighley and each company’s events. Only time will tell if the decision is the right one – a massive indicator of that will be this year’s Gamescom’s results.

Bandai Namco may collaborate with another American fantasy novelist after George R. R. Martin

Brandon Sanderson, author of the popular Mistborn series, the continuation and conclusion of the Wheel of Time, and many other fantasy novels, could be pursuing a future project with Elden Ring publisher, Bandai Namco. After the massive success of their newest title, the Japanese company’s future is looking bright.

Microsoft reportedly to launch an Xbox Game Pass family plan later this year

A new plan is reported to support up to five individual users with a single subscription. This will be possible by using Microsoft’s Family Account system, already existing in other products, like Office 365. If the rumours are correct, even more of the public’s attention will be shifting towards subscription-based gaming.
