Warsaw – The City of Wonders – Go2Warsaw
Warsaw faces a major challenge today. It’s a dynamic, green, and modern city that grows more impressive year after year – but it still needs to consistently shape its global image. For many Western teenagers, it remains an undiscovered destination, unfairly associated with the “grey East” and a colorless, post-Soviet past.
How do we change that? We knew one thing: Gen Z doesn’t read tourist brochures. They don’t scroll through “Top 10 Monuments” lists. They seek experiences. Before booking a flight, they check out places on Street View, TikTok, or… in a game. We asked ourselves: What if a city break could start before you even leave home?
Don’t tell them about Warsaw. Let them discover it themselves
Instead of creating an ad, we created a world. We used Fortnite Creative not as a billboard, but as a storytelling platform. Our goal wasn’t to show Warsaw, but to let players experience Warsaw-inspired themes, meet iconic characters, and uncover stories.
We created the Warsaw-inspired “City of Wonders” – an interactive journey where players become agents of the Agency of Wonders. The mission: assemble the mythical Key to Warsaw. To do this, running and shooting isn’t enough. You need to understand the city.
A journey through three dimensions of the city
When designing the Warsaw-inspired map, we broke the linearity of time, dividing it into three unique, playable eras. Taking on the role of a time-traveling agent, players experience the distinct atmosphere, mechanics, and soul of the Mermaid City across different periods:

19th Century: Legends & Noir. A misty, mysterious era full of science and magic. Players meet Marie Curie and Frédéric Chopin but must also face the Basilisk in the dungeons. It’s a nod to history, delivered in a dark, engaging RPG atmosphere.

20th Century: Secrets of the Underground. Here we dive into spy thriller vibes and retro-futurism. We’ve got the Black Volga, the villain’s hat from Leopold Tyrmand’s novel, and gadgets straight out of Lem’s imagination. The game is packed with pop culture easter eggs worth going off the beaten path to discover – both in-game and in real life.

21st Century: Vertical City. The finale is pure adrenaline. Parkour up skyscrapers, flight over the city center at sunset, and a wild speedboat race down the Vistula – watch out for the… protected goosanders. Warsaw in the game, like in reality, is a modern, green metropolis, not a concrete wasteland.
Details that build authenticity
We couldn’t recreate Warsaw meter by meter in virtual reality. So we focused on the essence of the city. That’s how City of Wonders was born – inspired by Warsaw.

We created an original, condensed interpretation of the city. Think of it as “The Best of Warsaw” – a hub where iconic buildings, the river, and parks are within reach, creating the perfect obstacle course for dynamic gameplay. But true immersion comes from the details.

We didn’t need to replicate every curb to capture the city’s spirit. We did it by embedding elements that build the unique, local vibe and give a wink to those in the know, including:
- The viral TikTok Beaver that the internet fell in love with
- The Organ Grinder, currently an iconic figure of real Warsaw
- The dreamlike murals by Tytus Brzozowski, which serve as gateways to imagination both in-game and in reality
Thanks to these touches, the game world isn’t a two-dimensional marketing piece. It’s a virtual reality that introduces you to Warsaw’s atmosphere while being an authentic gaming experience that follows Fortnite’s rules.
How do you win the attention of travelers from around the world?
In an era of attention deficit, where the battle is fought over the first three seconds of scrolling, we decided to go all in: for time and engagement. Instead of another campaign that interrupts the user’s entertainment, we created a space that’s part of it.
When a player spends fifteen minutes hunting the Basilisk in virtual dungeons or racing down the Vistula, they build a deeper relationship with the city than they would from seeing a thousand banners and flyers. For them, Warsaw may have just stopped being an abstract dot on the map of Europe and become part of their personal, emotional experience.
We bet on marketing without geographical borders or language barriers (the game is released in English) – accessible to everyone, for free.
Don’t just take our word for it. Enter code 8289-0792-0837 in Fortnite Creative and see for yourself how we’ve elevated the capital to a new, epic dimension.
