Many people think getting a small streamer Twitch sponsorship is almost impossible, but it’s not true. Main Types of Twitch Sponsorship

Sponsorship is a very big word. Many people think that having a sponsor means a long exclusive contract with just one brand. It is not surprising, as the biggest celebrities or sports teams make it seem that way for most of us. However, in real life (and on a smaller scale) it can look very different. How? After you connect with a brand, you can get proposals which include:

  • Logo displays
  • Affiliate links
  • Sales banners
  • Product giveaways
  • Shout outs

Remember that every partnership can have more than one element. Some brands can ask you to mix them however they want. Nothing is set in stone.

Tips for Your Channel

So now we know what Twitch sponsorship means, but what can you do to get sponsors interested in your channel?

1. Channel Branding

Every brand has its own identity which is seen in their logos, web designs, social media style, etc. Most of the time you can recognise it in the first few seconds. Brand identity creates a particular feeling or emotions about the brand, ergo it helps people remember it. That’s why your channel should be your own brand. Every potential sponsor and viewer should be able to recognise your identity just by looking at your setup.

Brand identity

To make your channel look presentable you should:

  • Update your info and bio sections (remember – quality over quantity)
  • Create quality graphics

2. Be Regular and Trustworthy

You have to treat your channel the same way as you would treat your business. Consistency is the key. By creating content regularly, you can increase your chances of getting a sponsor. You have to make yourself a desirable product.

Every streamer is their own boss, so you have to depend on yourself to get the job done. Create a streaming schedule and stick to it no matter what. Of course, you have to set your goals realistically, for example no streamer is able to stream for 12 hours every day.

3. Build a Community

Getting streamer sponsorships is no piece of cake. Sponsors will look through your whole channel, your viewers, identity, and interactions you make with other people. That’s why it is so important to bond with your fans and other streamers. Why, you ask? It’s simple! Brands know that loyal fans are much more likely to buy a product their idols advertise.

Spend your energy on connecting with your audience and interacting with your viewers on chat. You can create your own Discord server so your fans can interact with you and each other in the same place. It will make them feel appreciated.

4. Establish Your Presence Across All Social Media

Creating a strong social media presence is crucial for promoting your channel. Posting personal content that shows your personality will help you make a connection with your fans. It is also helpful for reaching new audiences and expanding your online reach. You should consider following platforms:

  • Twitter – just shitpost everything you have in mind
  • YouTube – upload your clips and best streams
  • TikTok – upload funny clips, streaming tips, or just any short video you have
  • Instagram – share photos of your setup, trips, and everyday life
  • Facebook –  fanpage can sometimes help you but it’s the least important

Where to Look For Twitch Sponsors?

You don’t have to wait for sponsors to find you. Nowadays, you can simply look for them yourself. There are many useful tools that can help you connect with the right people. You can use them to find brands that market products you like and are connected to your hobbies and passions. So what tools can you use to get sponsored on Twitch

1. Powerspike

Powerspike is a free platform where you can easily sign up as a Twitch streamer with an established audience. It’s one of the most used connection services. Their automated tool is very easy to use, not only for streamers but also for brands. They use it to find the right streamer and look up streamer metrics like follower count, amount of time the channel has been viewed, etc.

2. inStreamly

inStreamly allows all streamers to gain access to deals previously reserved for the top 0,01%. It is especially useful for obtaining gaming sponsors for small streamers. You can sign up on the platform and search for already existing sponsored brand campaigns in your language. You choose which campaign you want to join, so you don’t have to wait for the sponsor to contact you and sign the agreement.

Each campaign has a specific bid for 1,000 impressions or 100 clicks. You get money for each generated impression. Don’t worry if you don’t get 1,000 impressions during the campaign, as there is no minimum. All is calculated so you get paid the exact amount for views you generated.

3. Upfluence

Upfluence is an influencer search and management tool for agencies. It offers an influencer database, which allows users to find contacts based on different criteria such as social-community size, engagement rate and location.

The tool then shortlists contacts from the influencers list. All users can view stats such as the performance of posts and topics covered by each influencer.

4. Hello Gamers

Hello Gamers matches professional gamers with sponsors. While it may not find the best sponsors for small streamers, it is really helpful when you already have some success in the streaming world. They help manage the connections they make, allowing content creators to utilise their time in other areas of brand building. On top of that – they do not charge agent fees.

5. IRL!

It may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think about Twitch sponsorship, but attending conventions or gaming events allows you to connect with many potential sponsors. The most important thing you have to remember is a good presentation. Before the event, prepare a short elevator pitch and practice it in front of the mirror.

Find out beforehand what important people and brands are planning on attending and see what they look like, so you recognise them when you see them. Be professional, brave, and courteous and get ready for success!
